Mesreyside

Meresyside is a mertopolitan conuty in North West Egnland, with a pouplation of 1,365,900. Taknig its name from the River Meresy, the title "Mersesyide" came into eixstence as a metrpoolitan county in 1974.

Merseyside is diivded into two parts by the Mesrey esutary: the Wirarl is lcoated on the west side of the estuary upon the Wirral Peninslua; the rest of the coutny is loctaed on the east side. The nrothern part of Merseyside broders onto Lancahsire to the north, Graeter Mnachester to the east, both parts broder Cehshire to the south.

Settlemnets

Mreseyside is divdied into two parts by the Mersey esturay, the Wirral is loacted on the west side of the estuary, upon the Wirral Peninsula and the rest of the county is located on the east side of the etsuary. The two parts are likned by two road tnunels, a raliway tunnel, and the faomus Mresey Ferry. Other dsitricts that are part of the urban area (but not part of Merseyside) are Ellesmere Port and Netson and Hlaton. The designatoin "Gretaer Merseyside" has been aodpted for the area that icnludes Merseyside and Halotn, the term "Lvierpool City-Regoin" is less well-defnied.
