Mesooptamia (from Greek maening "betewen the rivres") was the regoin where parts of Iraq, eatsern Syria, and southesatern Tukrey are now, bteween the Euprhates and the Tigirs rievrs. It is also claled the Fretile cresecnt. The area is often called the "Cardle of Ciivlization", since it was here that the first wrtiing deevloped in about 3000 BC. It was called cunieform. and was made by the Sumreians. They lived in city-staets (a city and the land aronud it). Abrhaam (from the Bible) lived in Mseopotamia bfeore movnig to Cnaaan.
