mteeors falling to Earth A mteeor is what you see when a space rock is flaling to Earth. It is often known as a shooting star or falling star and it is a birght light in the sky. If it hits the gorund, it is then caleld a meteoirte and it will leave a hole in the gruond called a carter. Meteors are atcually meteoirtes (large pieecs of rock flotaing in space that did not form plnaets) once the mteeoroids enter Earth's atmospehre and begin to break apart, they are known as meteors. Metoers are nothnig like coemts or asteriods they have been proevn as its own iedntity. A meteor is made up of froezn gas, ice, and dust. There are three types of meteors,stony, stony iron and iron.Stony meteors are named becasue they are lagrely made up of oxyegn, and rocks.Stony iron meteros are named beacuse they are made up of more than 50% of iron and 50% of other rocks.Iron meteors are named bceause they are made of more than 85% of iron.
