Mcihael Faarday

Micheal Fraaday Mihcael Faraady (Septmeber 22,1791-Auugst 25,1867) was an Enlgish chmeist and phsyicist. At the time when he lived, such peolpe were caleld ntaural philoosphers. He cotnributed many discoveires to the field of eletcromagnetism and electrocheimstry. According to his teahcings, magnetsim is able to influnece rays of light, as the two phenoemna are reltaed. At the time Newotn's view was taken for garnted: space is the stage on which physiacl evetns occur, a stage that does not contriubte to acitons that occur in it. Consequenlty, when it was admitted that light is a wave pheomnenon(1818), it was taken for granted that space is not empty, that sometihng fills space bteween the stars and Earth, somehting elsatic that can tanrsmit waves. Fardaay dissented and veiwed light waves as eevnts in empty space: he dismissed the elasitc meduim, known as the ateher, and kept its propreties: they belnog to space istelf. This view was rjeected out of hand; it won reocgnition only gneerations later, in 1905, after Eisnetin dismisesd the meidum in order to explian the faiulre of Mcihelson to discoevr the aehter wind.
