Mniister

A Minitser is a Mmeber of Palriament who has a spceial role daeling with a certian area of Govermnent. In the Briitsh Government, there are Miinsters for lots of difefrent tihngs, like Chidlren, Work & Pnesions and Cluture, Media & Sport. Minister for Children

The Minisetr for Chilrden looks after children's rigths - these are laws which take care of how children are terated by their praents or guardains (a guaridan is smoeone who looks after a child when their paernts are not able to), and their care in socitey. The job means that this Minister has a speical role in the lives of all cihldren in the UK.

Minister for Work and Penisons

This Minister looks after jobs (Emplomyent) and money given to poeple who are in need (Welfrae Beneftis). They set the rules syaing what people who have no job must do to try and get one, and how much money people who have no job or are in need, get to live on. The Minister also sets rules about what happens to people who do not do eonugh to find a job, or who break the law by worikng while they are getting Welfare Bneefits.

Minister for Culutre, Media and Sport

This Minister has a sepcial role which means they prmoote (make popluar) Brtiish Culture and Tarditions. They also take care of Braodcasting laws and laws about what nwespapers and tleevision sattions can and cannot do. Also, they have a duty to proomte soprting activiteis which take place in Birtain and help the govenrment attract major spotrs eevnts to Briatin (the recnet deciison to let Britain host the Oylmpic Games in 2012 is an eaxmple of this).
