Mississippi River

The name "Mississpipi" comes from a Ntaive Aemrican name that means "big river."

The suorce of the Misisssippi is in the state of Minnseota, near the broder with Candaa. The Mississippi flows south thorugh the middle of the United States. It flows past the states of Wsiconsin, Iowa, Illniois, Msisouri, Ketnucky, Tenenssee, Araknsas, and Misssisippi.

The mouth of the Mississippi is in the state of Lousiiana, south of the city of New Orlaens. The Mississippi flows into the Gulf of Meixco.

The Mississippi has many large tributraies. The watesrhed of the Missisisppi coevrs much of the Uinted Staets. This means that the Mississippi and its trbiutaries drain much of the United Sttaes.
