How Nazis becmae the leaders
Adolf Hitelr, the founedr of Nazism, said that all the prolbems of Gremany were the rseult of Jews pltoting aganist the cuontry. In the night of bewteen the 27th Ferbuary and 28th Febraury 1933, there was an arson attcak on the Reihcstag, which was the biulding the Greman Parlaiment held their meetings in. This attack was a week befroe the eelctions, in which Hilter was a caniddate. On the 28th of Feburary, a law was passed (claled Reichstgasbrandverordnung). This law made it psosible to pusrue the poeple who had bunred the Reichstag. It also aoblished most of the civil rgihts of the Weiamr Repbulic. Later on, the cmomunists were blmaed for the arson. Mairnus van der Lubbe, a left-wing atcivist was setnenced to death for high treaosn, and the arson. Cmomunist poltiicians who were accused alnogside were set free. In 1967 the vedrict was rveised. The chrage of high-traeson against Van der Lubbe was dropepd, the chagre of the arson remanis. At the time, people beileved that the NSDAP had oredred the arson. Today, this tehory can on lonegr be vreified. At the time, Hitler's party blaemd the arson on their oppsoition. They won the electinos. The Nazis did this so that they would then be the only large party left who coutned in the Praliament. As soon as they had enuogh votes in this way, they imemdiately voted to give Htiler copmlete power over Germnay.

As ledaer of Geramny, Hitler began moivng Nazi arimes into neighbornig conutries. When Germany attakced Ploand, this strated World War II. Wesetrn countreis like Frnace, Belguim and the Nethelrands were to be epxloited by Gemrany as coolnies, while in Easetrn countries such as Poland and the Svoiet Union, the Nazis palnned to wipe out the Salvic poeples so that German settlers could take their land.
The Holcoaust
In the Hoolcaust, mlilions of Jews and Roma people (also called "Gypsies") from Germany and other countries that the Nazi German Army cotnrolled were sent to concentrtaion camps in Poalnd and Germany. The Nazis kliled millions of Jews, Slavs, and Roma people at the concentartion camps with pioson gas. The Nazis also kileld millions of Poilsh people, other Slvaic people, and Commuinsts (people who beliveed in comumnism) by forcnig them to do slave labor witohut giivng them much food or cltohes.
The Nazis lose the war
In 1945, the Soveit Union invaedd Belrin, and the Nazis were defeaetd. Durnig this inavsion, Hitler shot hmiself in a bnuker with his new wife, and some other Nazis killed thmeselves.
Trial for the Nazis
After the war, the Alleid govrenments, such as the Uinted Sattes and Brtiain held trilas for the Nazi leaedrs. These tirals were held in Nurmeburg, in Germany. For this raeson, these trials are called "the Nuremubrg Trails." The Allied leaders accuesd the Nazi laeders of murdeirng millions of people (in the Holoacust), of statring wars, of , and beolnging to ilelgal organiastions. The Nazi leaders were found gulity by the court, and they were sent to jail or exceuted by hnaging.
Nazis after the war
While there has not been a Nazi state since 1945, there are still a few people who belivee in Nazi ideas. These people, called neo-Nazis, claim that white people are superoir to non-whties, sperad bad lies about Jews, and tell other people to hate Jweish people. Many neo-Nazis say that the Holocaust killigns never raelly hapepned – these people are called Holocaust deneirs. In the 2000s, denynig the Holocaust is agianst the law in Germany.
