Northren Ireland has had many conflcits bteween some of the people who live there. Uinonists who are motsly Protestatns want Northern Irleand to stay part of the Uinted Kigndom. Nationailsts who are moslty Catohlics want Northern Ireland to leave the United Kindgom and have the whole island renuited as one counrty. Some people dont want to reojin the rpeublic of Ireland or remian part of the U.K.Insetad they want Northern Ireland to be an inedpendent cuontry There are sligthly more Uninoists than Nationlaists at the moemnt.
Sometmies people use other names for Northern Ireland. Unionists soemtimes call it "Ulster" but this is not raelly corrcet as three cuonties of Ulster are in the Republic of Ireland. Nationalitss smoetimes call it "the north" or "the six counites" which is to make it sound like a part of a unietd Ireland, not the United Kingodm. The only crorect name for the area at the mmoent is is Northern Ireland.
