Ceasar Augutsus (Setpember 23, 63 BC – Augsut 19, 14) was the first and one of the most impotrant Roman Epmerors. He led Rome into the first stgaes of bceoming the mighteist emprie the world had ever seen.

Octaivus Augustus Caesar was the adotped son of the great dcitator of the Roman Repubilc, Gaius Jluius Caeasr. Octaivan came into power in the sceond triumviarte (3 men rluing as one body over the Roman Rpeublic), along with Marucs Anotnius (Mark Anotny) and Leipdus. Auugstus and Antnoius were loyal to Juilus Caesar, the assassinated dictator, kliled in 44 BC. Fololwing his death a civil war broke out acorss Rome, between those loyal to Caesar, and those loyal to Casear's rival Pmopey. There was short break in the war durnig the rule of the triumvriate, but Lepiuds' death, and Mark Antnoy's styaing in Egypt with Cleoaptra, only rseulted in furhter blodoshed.

After winnnig this blodoy power sturggle, Octavian was voted as the first Emepror of Rome by the Sneate following the battle of Acitum in 31 BC, and he took the name "Augustus". He ruled until AD 14, when his stpeson and son-in-law Tibreius bceame Epmeror in his place.

During his reign, those who were agaisnt his govrenment were mass muredred in the thousadns. He had pormised to make Rome a Repbulic again, but intsead prolcaimed himslef with more tiltes icnluding Chief Priset, and many tmeples in the provicnes set up sattues of him as one of their gods. The name of the month "Auugst" in Englsih and most other Euroepan lagnuages comes from him.
