Offcier

An officer is a perosn who holds a high rank in a unfiormed organisatoin like the mliitary or ploice. Some exmaples of officer ranks would inculde captians, majros, and liuetenants, but not sergenats, who are somteimes caleld non-commissinoed ofifcers, or NCOs.

Poeple who are in a postiion of imporatnce in an orgnaization or compnay can also a type of offiecr, for exmaple:

The Chief Exectuive Officer (CEO) of a cmopany is the preson in chrage of that copmany.
In many organizatinos, the officres are the prseident, vice-preisdent, sceretary and treausrer. These people run the organziation, keep track of what goes on at meetigns and hnadle the money for the organizatoin.
