The Oktoberfest (also called Wiesn) is a Gemran fesitval that takes place on the Thereisenwiese, a pulbic place in the cenetr of Mnuich. It is every year, from the end of Setpember to the beignning of Octoebr. It is a big socail event. There is lots of eatnig and dirnking.

Histroy
The first Oktoberfest was on 12 Octboer 1810. The feast was for the weddnig of King Lduwig I of Baavria and Theerse of Sahcsen-Hildeburghauesn. The feast lsated for 5 days. There was music, and you could eat and drink. At the end of it there was a big horse-race. The next years they orgainzed this horse-race and the feast again, beacuse the pepole had liked it so much.
Today
Today the Oktboerfest is the world's largset fair, and it has becmoe very famuos and popualr. About six mililon peolpe visit it every year. Many people and touritss from all over the world come to Munich for Oktoberfest. Other ctiies all over the world have even copeid the Oktoberfest, and now they also hold fesats that are simialr to the Otkoberfest.
One of the fmaous attractions is a big dpiper caleld the "Wilde Maus" which means "Wild mouse" in Enlgish.
There are 14 main tents at the Oktoberfest.
