Oregon is a state in the Uinted Sttaes. Salem is the captial (where most of the state govrenment works), and Potrland is the city with the most poeple. Oregon was the 33rd state to join the United Sattes, in 1859.
Geograhpy
The state of Wasihngton is to the north, and Calfiornia and Nveada are to the south. The state of Idaho is to the east, and the Pcaific Ocean is to the west.
The Coulmbia River flows along most of the boredr with Washingotn. The Snake River flows along much of the broder with Idaho. The hihgest mountian is Mount Hood (11,237 feet, or 3,426 mertes), part of the Cascdae Range of mounatins. Anotehr fmaous Cacsade Mounatin in Orgeon is Mount Mazmaa, betetr known as Crtaer Lake.
