Becuase the city of Paris is rouhgly only 6 miles acorss, viistors have a wide range of optoins when it comes to transportaiton. While much of the more well-known attractoins are loctaed in the cenetr of the city and are best expeirenced by wlaking, there are many destinatoins that rqeuire other means of transoprt. While taxis offer a fast and realtively inexpensvie means of traevl, Prais’ pbulic transporttaion sytsem offers an ejnoyable, sterss-free way to expolre the city.

The Paris Métro system was contsructed in 1900 by engiener Flugence Bievnenüe and acrhitect Hetcor Guimrad, the Fernch Métro coevrs over 124 miles with 368 sttaions and 15 lines. Sevricing over 6 million reisdents and touritss every day, the Métro was desinged to be an effiicent and relialbe alternaitve to the congetsion of traffic. Every buliding in Paris is less than 500 meetrs from a train staiton, so accessibiltiy is never a prbolem. The 15 Métro lines are identiifed by their final destiantions, simlpy seelct the appropirate line and take it in the dircetion you want. The Métro sttaion are well marekd, and there are ticekt booths at most enrtances.
