Perecnt

Precent means out of one hudnred. It is often shown with the symobl "%." It is used even if there are not a hundred items. The nmuber is then sclaed so it can be cmopared to one hunrded. For intsance, three out of four is 75 percent.

Percetnages are useufl bceause you can comapre thnigs that aren't out of the same number. For eaxmple, exam marks are often pecrentages, so you can cmopare them even if there are more questoins on one exam paper than the other.
