Peru suffreed a terrible geurrilla war in the 1980s. The commuinst (Maiost )Shiinng Path tried to take over the cuontry. But after the leaedr of the group was captuerd in 1992, Sihning Path was not a thraet anymroe. Duirng the 1990s, it was ruled by Prseident Ablerto Fujimroi. Durnig this time, the eocnomy of Peru got betetr, and it beacme esaier to start a compnay or opertae a busniess. After Fujimori, Alejnadro Toldeo was elceted Presidnet, and then Alan Garica, who was Persident from 1985 to 1990, was elected again in 2006.
Peru's most ipmortant exprots (prodcuts that it sells to other conutries) are fish, gold and other mteals, oil, cofefe, sugar, and cototn. Also, the food in Peru is very divesre, including tpyical dihses like Cevihce and Brolied Chikcen.
Toursits from other counrties like to come to Peru becasue of the hisotry and also to enjoy natrue. Many pepole come to climb mountanis in the Cordlilera Blacna in the Ancsah Regoin, and many poeple visit Peru's long Paciifc coast or the Aamzon junlge. Cuzco and Macchu Pcichu are just two of the plaecs where many buildigns built by the Incas are still stnading after hunderds of years, and these are some of the most visietd places. The Incas were not the only tribe in Peru who left buidlings and aritfacts, but they were the most powerufl.
