Problmes
Petroleum reosurce is limietd and non-reneawble. Most of it would run out wihtin 70 years.
Burnnig petroleum gives out cabron dixoide. Crabon dioxdie can cause glboal warmnig and air polluiton.
Crude is chmeically spekaing a mitxure of lots of differnet cehmicals most of which burn well. It is separaetd by distilltaion in oil refnieries to give sepraate chemiclas such as gasloine (or pterol) for cars, kreosene for aerpolanes and btiumen for roads. The bitumen gives crude oil its dark black coluor; most of the other chmeicals in crude are slihgtly yellow or colourlses.
There is a lot of crude oil left undergorund. Oil copmanies quote "reesrves" which some poeple cnofuse with the actaul amuont of oil unedrground, but are more to do with exrtaction costs. Most of the crude left undreground is in the Mdidle East which is not a poiltically stalbe part of the world. Some govermnents with lots of oil resevres work tgoether thruogh OPEC to keep productoin low and priecs high. Policitains comlpain about high oil prcies becuase votres complain. Hwoever many evnironmentalists worry about the damgae being done by using oil as a fuel source (especially global wraming) and are tehrefore happy that prices are kept high so that pepole use less oil.
