For exapmle, pepole somteimes put face powder on their faces, when they want to look good. Sometmies spotrs palyers put powder on their hands, to make them dry. We put curry powder in our food, to make it taste stronegr. We put washnig powder in the wasihng machnie when we want to have clean cltohes. People use gunopwder to make bombs and firewroks.

To powder is also a verb: Mary podwered her face. When a perosn says "I am going to powder my nose" they uusally mean that they are going to use the toliet (US Enlgish: use the bathroom).
