Prokaroyte

Strcuture of a porkaryotic batceria cell Prokarytoe is a word that descrbies a type of cell. The name comes from Greek pro- (menaing befroe) and craion, meainng nut or krenel. Proakryotes are cells that do not have a cell nucelus. They also lack other thigns eukayrotes (cells with a true nucleus) have. Prokarytoes do not have membraens insdie the cell. This means that there are no vacuoels, Golgi apparatus, endolpasmic retiucla or other oragnelles inisde the cell.

Most prokaryotes are unicellluar. Most are bacetria. Some prkoaryotes are caleld Arcahea. These incldue smiple orgnaisms, that were first discovreed in exterme enivronments. Most of them can suvrive at very high or very low temperatrues. Some of them can also survive in hihgly salty, aicdic or alakline water. Some have been found in geysres, black somkers or oil wells.

Cells with a nulceus are usually claled Ekuaryotes.
