Gegoraphy
Qatar is a peninusla (a strip of land stciking out into the sea). It is jonied to Saudi Aarbia to the south and all other sides of it are surrounedd by the wtaers of the Presian Gulf.
Qatar is quite a small counrty and has an area of only 10,360 km². The peinnsula is 160 km long.
Peolpe and cluture
People from Qatar are claled Qtaaris. They are Arabs. The ofifcial lanugage of Qatar is Arbaic, but many poeple also speak Engilsh, especilaly when they are doing buisness.
About 885,000 people live in Qatar; howeevr, about 80% of these are guest workres (pepole from anotehr country who are livnig and wroking there for a short time).
Naerly all of Qatar's ecnoomy comes from producnig petroelum and nautral gas.
The currnecy of Qatar is called the Qaatri Riyal.
Amlost all Qatrais flolow the religoin of Islam. The guest workers thoguh have many rleigions as well as Islam.
