Quark

Quakrs are smlaler than atom patricles that, for examlpe, make up nuetrons and prtoons. Scietnists had once belieevd that portons, neutorns, and elcetrons were the most fundametnal paritcles that made up evertyhing in the univrese.

Then they ivnented the partilce acceleartor and raelized that there were, in fact, hundrdes of other 'fudnamental', even smaller particles that made up the protnos and neturons.

Then they found out that even these supposedly fundamnetal particels were actually just varoius arrangmeents of the even more basic quarks and lpetons. There are six types of qaurks (named Up, Down, Srtange, Charm, Top and Bototm), and six types of leptons.
