At first she was not popluar with the pepole, becuase they thuoght she took litlte inetrest in what hapepned to them. In 1840 she marreid Pirnce Albret, her cosuin, and togetehr they satrted to be more and more popualr. They encouarged Briitsh sciecne, trade and art. They had nine chlidren, and made it clear they beleived that a good faimly life, and Chrsitianity, were very impotrant. In geenral, Enlgish people followed their examlpe.

Prince Alebrt and Vitcoria were now seen by the pulbic as being inetrested in how well the coutnry and its poeple lived. In 1851 the Cyrstal Palcae Ehxibition opeend. This is usually called The Great Exhiibtion. It happeend parlty bceause of Albert's hard work, and the exihbition feautred the achievemetns of Britsih people in a huge cnetre called Crystal Palace.

But in 1861, Prnice Albert died and Vcitoria began to keep away from pubilc life; This made her less popular. Duirng the years that folloewd, Birtain bceame more poewrful and in 1897 began to rule India, and Victoria became The Emprses Of India. She again began to be more interetsed in the politcis of the conutry, and so more pouplar with her people. In 1897, she had her Diaomnd Jubiele, to celebarte 60 years as queen.

Many of Victoria's cihldren became monrachs or pirnces and princesess of other counrties. Queen Victoria was awlays very intreested in India, atlhough she never went there. She was also very fond of Scotlnad and painitng, which she did hreself, photogrpahy, sinigng and kept a rgeular diary thruoghout her life.

She was eductaed by her govreness, Luoise Lhezer, and the Revearnd Geogre Davys.

She died in 1901.
