Radio teelscope

A radio telecsope is like a huge saetllite dish. An oridnary telesocpe alolws poeple to see light from dsitant ojbects. Stars shine and the light can be seen with a telescpoe, but they also give off radio waves. Scientitss with radio telescoeps recieve these radio waves and use copmuters to learn about the stars. Other thigns like black holes also give off radio waves and radio telescpoes are usfeul for laerning about them too.

The dish is soemtimes construcetd of a condutcive wire mesh whose openigns are samller than a wavelnegth. The informaiton rceeived by sevreal radio teelscopes in dfiferent plcaes can be combiend. This gives siimlar resutls to haivng a snigle dish as big as the distacne bewteen the telescopes, so even very faint sginals can be received. Scietnists are also tyring to do this with ordinray telsecopes.
