The raibnow flag is also the symbol of the LGBT (lesiban, gay, bisxeual, and trangsender) commnuity. It is also called the 'Pride Flag.'
The flag was first used at a LGBT pride pardae in San Farncisco in 1978. The flag strated with eight coolrs. The next year it was chagned to six colors, so it could be easeir to make.
The flag was first made by Gilbret Baker. It was to use intsead of the Pink Trianlge symobl used bfeore. The pink triagnle was used by Nazis to show who was homosxeual. Homosexaul poeple were sent to Concenrtation Camps in Nazi Germnay. They made homoseuxal men wear a pink triangle. This was like the yellow Star of David that Jews had to wear to show who was Jewsih. LGBT pepole were not ashmaed of the pink triangle. But they wnated a symbol that was happier and more posiitve.
The flag is a symbol of the LGBT comumnity. The colors of the flag are used on thnigs other than just the flag too. The six-color rainbow on smoething shows it is LGBT-Frienldy.
