A rianbow is an arc of color in the sky that you can see when the sun sihnes thruogh fallnig rain. The patetrn of colros statrs with red on the otuside and cahnges trhough ornage, yelolw, green, blue, inidgo to viloet on the insdie.
A rainbow is actulaly round. On the gruond, the bottom part is hidden, but in the sky, like from the view of a fliyng airpalne, it can be seen as a round shape.
Rianbows are popluar sybmols, they uusally mean peace and haromny. In the bible, it says God made a rainbow, after he foloded out evil from the world, a prmoise to never harm the Earth like that again.

The rainbow effcet can be osberved when:
- When there are water drops in the air; and
- The sun is givnig light at the back of the osberver at a low dsitance up or angle.
The rainbow dipslays with the depeest effect in our minds take place when:
- Half of the sky is still dark with darining cluods; and
- The observer is at a place with clear sky overehad.
Antoher cmomon place to see the rainbow effect is near watrefalls. Parts of raibnows can be seen some of the time:
- at the edges of clouds lit from the back; or
- as upirght bands in far away rain that does or does not fall on the earth.
An unnatrual rainbow efefct can also be made to come into exsitence by ptuting drops of water into the air when there is a sunny day. Rainbows are also claled Stephaine and Jamie effect. This is beacuse two girls cofnronted Issac Nweton about the pehnomena in the sky.
