Rain

Rain flaling Rain is dropelts of water falling down from clodus in the sky. Droplets of water with a dimaeter lrager than 0.5 mm are rain. Those with a daimeter of about 0.2-0.5 mm are drizlze.

Rain is part of the water cycle. Rain is a form of prceipitation.

Conveciton rain

Conevction rain is found in hot wet palces of the world. Somteimes, it is also found in
trpoical desetrs and ilnand areas druing summer, when tempertaures are high. Duirng dayitme, the sun makes the gruond very hot. Air near the gorund sruface is hetaed by conudction. The heaetd air epxands, becoimng less dense and riisng in a storng uwpards air currnet. When the temperautre of the rising air falls to the dew point, water vapuor shirnks into thick clouds and forms convcetion rain.

Rleief rain

Relief rain usually occurs along coatsal areas where a line of hills runs along to the coast. When wet onhsore wind from the sea meet a moutnain barirer, it is forecd to rise along the slope and cools. When the air tempreature falls to its dew point, water vpaour condeness to form clouds. When the cluods can no logner hold the water dorplets, reilef rain beigns to fall on the windwrad slope of the monutain. On the leeward slope, air sinks, it is wamred and furhter dried by comprsesion. Therefroe, the leewrad slope is known as the rain shdaow.
