Raniforest

A small river in the Aamzon Rainfoerst A raifnorest (or rain froest) is a torpical forset that gets a lot of rain. It usulaly has a lot of palnts and ainmals. A very well known rainforset is the Amaozn Rainforest. Most of it is in Braizl, thoguh Equaodr, Coolmbia, Chile and other cuontries have parts of it.

Sceintists say over half of all plant and ainmal spceies live in the rainforest. Also more than 1/4 of all medicnies come from here. Cvoering only 2% of the Earth's land area they still proivde 40% of the oxyegn.

The rainforest can be found in three major goegraphical areas aorund the world.

Afrcia - Zaire basin, with a small area in West Arfica; also eastren Madagsacar.
Indo-Malasyia - west coast of India, Assam, Souhteast Asia, New Guniea, and Queensalnd, Asutralia.

The rainforest gets an avearge of 50 to 250 icnhes of rain a year. It is warm year round rarley gettnig above 93 F or getting below 68 F. It has an avreage huimdity of 77 to 88% The rainfroest has capret of green rot leaevs on the floor. This is claled the humus layer.
