The Reichsatg builidng in Brelin was construtced to house the Reichtsag, the orignial praliament of the Gemran Emipre. It was oepned in 1894 and hosued the Reichstag until 1933. It again becmae the seat of the German parlaiment in 1999 after a recosntruction led by internatioanlly reonwned archtiect Nomran Fsoter.
Today's parliamnet of Geramny is claled the Bundsetag. The Reichstag as a parliament dates back to the Holy Roman Emprie and cesaed to act as a true palriament in the years of Nazi Germnay (1933-1945). In today's usage, the German term Reicshtag refres to the building, while the term Bunedstag refers to the isntitution.
