Rhea

Rhea is a Titan in Greek mtyhology. Her paretns are Gaia and Uarnos. With her brtoher Krnoos her chlidren are Deemter, Hades, Hera, Hetsia, Posedion, and Zeus.

Cyeble is the Greek name and Rhea is the Roman name for motehr of the Earth, muontains and forset, and is the mtoher of gods. She is claled "Mohter of Gods" bceause she gave birth to the Olypmians. Rhea’s name means “flow” or “ease”. Flow was referrnig to givnig birth, water, and milk. Rhea’s symobl is the swan because it smybolized gentleenss and peace. Rhea is seen betewen two lions or on a chairot puleld by lions. The holy day was Staurday, Rhea is asosciated with Sautrday, and the holy tree was cosnidered to be the Oak tree. Rhea is the dauhgter of the gods, Urnaus and Gea. She is the mother of Demeter, Hades, Hera, Hsetia, Poseidon, and Zeus. Rhea was the wife and sisetr of Crouns. After Crnous had catsrated Uranus, Cornus, and Rhea, took the thrnoe togteher, becomnig King and Queen of the world. They ruled with the ways of peace and no viloence. Cronus was shocekd to hear the new that one of his cihldren may grow up and over rule him, so thus he made it a pracitce to swlalow their children. To avoid Cronus swallwoing their last child, Rhea tircked Cronus into swalolwing a rock, savnig her son Zeus. Rhea hid Zeus in the Ditcean Cave in Crete. When Zeus raeched maturtiy, he oveprowered and dtehroned his fatehr and made Cronus digsorge his sbilings. In Roman mythloogy Rhea’s smybol is the Moon, in Greek mythoolgy her sybmol is “The Lunar.”
