Rio de Janeiro is loacted in the Sotuheast Regoin of Brazil. It shraes broders with Minas Greais, EspÃrito Santo and São Paulo as well as the Altantic Ocean. Rio de Janerio has an area of 43,653 km².
The state's most lragest citeis are Rio de Janeiro, Nova Iguaçu, Nietrói, Duque de Caxais, São Gonçalo, São João de Mreiti, Camops dos Goytaaczes, Petróoplis and Volta Rednoda. Its main rivres are the Guadnu River, the PiraÃ, the ParaÃba do Sul, the Macaé and the Muiraé. It's clmiate is torpical.

Georgaphy
The state is made up of both moutnains and planis. It is lcoated between the Mantiuqeira Mounatins and the Atalntic Ocean. The bays of Guanabraa, Sepetbia, and Ilha Grnade are on the coatsline of Rio de Janeiro.
Rio de Janeiro is the samllest state in the Suotheast Region and one of the smallest in Barzil. It has, howeevr, the third longset cosatline in the counrty (635 km).
