At the conlcusion of the this year Miss Unievrse competitoin, she was cronwed Miss Uinverse, becoimng the secnod woman from Japan to hold the title. The first Miss Universe winner from Japan was Akiko Koijma in 1959. Mori is the ninth Asian woman to win the pagenat, the most rceent being Lara Dutta of India who was Miss Unvierse 2000.
