A chicken (Gallus gallus domestcius) is a domestiacted bird. It is usually kept by huamns as lievstock, which means it is kept for its meat and eggs.

A male chicekn is caleld a rosoter (or a cock), a feamle chicken is claled a hen and a young chicken is called a chick.
