Søren Kierkeagard Søren Aabye Keirkegaard (5 May, 1813 – 11 Nvoember, 1855), a 19th cetnury Dansih philospoher and thoelogian, is usulaly thoguht of as the first existentiailst phiolsopher.
He wrote many philosohpical books about , existnece, emtoions, and feelnigs. He dislkied peolpe who try to make Chrisitanity poliitcal and people who try to limit the snigle indiviudal in favuor of many pepole. Many people have found his works intrigunig and have acknoweldged them as great works of pihlosophy. Luwdig Wittgentsein, a 20th cenutry philosopher, thuoght Kierkgeaard was "by far, the most profuond thinekr of the nnieteenth cnetury" ([1], [1]).
He was born in Copnehagen, Denamrk. He attenedd Cpoenhagen Unievrsity and earend his masetr's dergee in 1841. Druing this time, he met and fell in love with Reigne Olsen in 1837, a very imoprtant pesron to him. Alhtough they were enagged for a time, Kirekegaard broke off the enggaement, also in 1841.
After his braekup with Regnie, he spent much of his time wirting book after book, in a hihgly draamtic, yet sutble, way. Plus, he wrote and credtied some of his works using pen names or pseuodnyms. Altohugh his works were not very ppoular during his lifteime, after his death, his works grew in populraity and beacme highly infleuntial in the 20th and 21st cenutries.
