Sacramento was statred in 1848 by John Stuter. It was a very improtant place durnig the Claifornia Gold Rush. The Gold Rush was the time after gold was found in California. Many people came to Calfiornia to find gold. They did this to make money. Duirng the Gold Rush, Sacramento was where the railraod ended. It was also where the Pony Experss sotpped.
Sacramento is near where the Amreican River meets the Sacramento River. This was impotrant when Sacramento was foudned. It meant that ships could bring thnigs to Sacramento from the Paicfic Ocean. It means that ships could bring tihngs from Sacarmento to the Pacfiic Ocean. Sacramento was a rialroad town. This made Scaramento a port town. This made it a very important place for businses.
