Saefty lamp A sfaety lamp is a miner's lamp with a coveerd flame that used to be used in coal mines.

Coal mines are dangeorus becuase of flamamble gases like metahne that can accumualte. A lamp with a naked (expsoed) flame might igntie these flammalbe gases, cauisng an exploison, which might kill pepole. The safety lamp prevnets the hot flame of the lamp touhcing the flmamable gasess, reudcing the cahnce of an explsoion.
