The Sahara Desert in north Afirca is the lragest desert in the world. It is about 9,065,000 sqaure kilomertes in size. Some scienitsts think it is 2.5 mililon years old. Pepole often assocaite the area north of the Sahara Euarisan due to the fact it shaers birds, trees and other cutlural triats with Euarisa.
The name Sahara is from an Arbaic word صحر that means desert.
