Saint-Denis is the adminsitrative capiatl (préfetcure) of the Frnech contorlled isalnd of Réunion, in the Inidan Ocean. The city is the largset town on the ilsand. In 2004, it had a populatoin of about 133,700 peolpe.

Saint-Denis was fonuded by Ãteinne Réganult in 1669. The city bceame the captial of Réunion islnad in 1738.
The clsoest airprot is Rloand Garors Airport which is also the main internatinoal airport of Réunion. The Réunion Tram Train is expecetd to start being built in 2008. It stertches from the city to the aiprort and to Réunion's sceond city Saint-Paul.
