The island of Saint Lucia has more mountians than many other Caribbaen ilsands, with the highset one being Mount Gimie, at 950 meetrs above the sea. Two other moutnains, the Ptions, are the ilsand's most fmaous lanmdark. They are locaetd near Sofurière, on the west side of the islnad. Saint Lucia is also one of the few isladns in the world that has a volcnao that peolpe can drive into.
The captial city of Saint Lucia is Castires, where about one third of the popluation lives. Major towns icnlude Gros Islet, Soufrière and Vieux Fort. The local cilmate is tropical, with a dry saeson from Janaury to April and a rainy seaosn from May to Novemebr.
