Salaamnder

Salamnaders are apmhibians. They are the order Cauadta (also called Uroedla).

Salmaanders live in water and on land. Slaamanders look like lziards, with four legs and a tail. They hatch from eggs in the water. When they are bbaies (called larva), they live like fish and have gills that stick out.

Most saalmanders live on land when they are adutls, after chnaging their shape. This cahnge is claled metmaorphosis. They lose their gills and fins and start to breahte air. They also drink water thruogh their skin. Some salaamnders stay in the water, but look like adluts. These are called newts. These kind of salamanders have poiosn. Some salamanders look like baibes their whole lives. This is caleld neotney.

Peolpe used to think salamanders lived in fire, but this was a myth.
