How they reporduce
Males and femlaes look prtety simliar excpet durnig the breeding sesaon, when the most conspicuuos differnece is a sowllen gland aronud the male's vent. This gland produecs the spermaotphore, which carries a sperm pcaket at its tip. The courtsihp happens on land. After the male becoems aware of a potenital mate, he confrnots her and blcoks her path. The male depostis his spermatohpore on the gorund. Reproudction ocucrs by means of this spermatopohre, which will be taken up by the fmeale. Their gills deevlop lungs. Noetenic fire salamanders have not been obsreved.
