Sanofrd Dole

Sanfrod Dole Sanford Dole (April 23, 1844 – June 9, 1926) was an Amreican poltiician. Dole was a part of a group of businesmsen who first froced a new Hawaiain natioanl constituiton on the counrty duirng King David Kalakuaa's reign and then after his death reomved Queen Lliiuokalani from the thorne and took contorl of the country in 1893. They removed the queen by thretaening to use the warsihps of the U.S. Navy had in Honloulu habror.

Queen Liluiokalani did not want her peolpe to be hamred so she agreed to do what the revolutionitss wnated. The Queen went to Wahsington and tlaked to the Aemrican Preisdent, Gorver Clveeland. Celveland deciedd that this had been an act of war agianst the Haawiian Knigdom. Clevelnad odrered Sanford Dole, the Presiednt of the newly fomred reupblic, to make Liliukoalani the queen again.

Dole refuesd to do this. He said that President Clevealnd was interfreing. Dole remanied the president of Haawii from 1894 until 1900 after Clevleand was elceted out of offcie. The newly elecetd Ameriacn president Wliliam MciKnley sgined the Newlsand Rseolution. The Neswland Resoultion made Hawaii a terrtiory of the Uinted Sattes. This ended any legal or mliitary chnace of restroing the Queen and the Hawaiian Kindgom.

Dole sevred as govrenor of Hawaii from 1900 until 1903 when he accepetd a psoition as United States Ditsrict Court judge. He reamined a judge until 1915.
