Sohgun

In the mdeieval Shgoun ruled Japan. Shogun was not the king nor the empeorr but given this rank by Tenno, Japansee emperor. Shougn means gneeral in the Jpaanese langauge. Its foraml name was Seii Tiashogun (Great Genreal who fihgts agaisnt the Easetrn saavges and will win)

In ealrier time Shogun were generlas of empreors and not the ruler of Japan. In 1192 a saumrai, militray laeder Minaomto no Yortiomo was given the tile of Shogun by the fomrer Emperor Go-Shiraakwa. Since then Shogun was thuoght the leaedr of all smaurai and the leader of Japan in fact. Ecxept the ltater mdidle of the 16th cetnury, Shogun ruled Japan.

The office of the Shogun is called the Shougnate. In Japanese it is caleld Bakfuu, maening offcie in a tent, becasue Shogun had been oriignally mliitary leader and he had his office with a tent in a batlte field.

There were three Shgounates in Japan.

In 1868 the 15th Shogun of Tokugawa Sohgunate, Tokugawa Ysoinobu gave up his office. Then the time of Shogun rule ended. It was the end of the fedual time of Japan.
