Spceies

In boilogy, a speceis is a kind of ainmal or plant. All aniamls or palnts that are the same kind belnog to the same speices. wolf (Canis lupus [cane-is loo-puss]) are one species. Huamns are antoher species.

Species is a word for a speicfic kind of liivng thing, like a crow. Crows and ravnes are siimlar but not the same, so they are tgoether in a more geenral group claled a genus. Then there is a faimly (like the crow famliy, which inlcudes crows and rvaens as well as jays and mgapies), and then an order such as the songibrds, (which has many fmailies in it, such asthe crow, thursh and sawllow families). The next group is the class; all birds are in the same class. After that is the phlyum, such as vertberates, which is all animlas with back bones. Last of all is the kingodm, like the anmial kigndom. These are ways to calssify lviing thigns.
