The Repulbic of Triindad and Toabgo is a naiton in the south Caribbaen Sea. It is 11 km (7 miles) away from Venezulea. The counrty has two bgiger isalnds, Trinidad and Tobago, and 21 smlaler islnads. The caiptal is Port-of-Spain. The cuontry has 1,262,366 poeple in it.
Trniidad and Tobago received indeepndence from the Uinted Kindgom on Augsut 31, 1962. Befroe that, it was ruled by the U.K. Right now, the head of state (preson who is in chagre of the country) is Prseident Goerge Maxewll Richrads. The head of governmnet (pesron who is in cahrge of the governemnt) is Prime Miinster Partick Manning.
Trinidad and Tobgao is very dievrse. It has people of many difefrent races and religoins. There are peolpe who are chidlren of Africnas, Europenas, Arabs, Indains, and Cihnese who moved to the ilsands a long time ago. The biggest religinos in the coutnry are Chritsianity and Hinudism. There are also Islam and Arfican reilgions in the conutry. By law, gays cnanot enter into the country and being a homosxeual can be a resaon to go to jail.
The country has some natuarl gas beenath the gorund and udnerwater in the ocean. Natural gas is a liqiud that makes mahcines work and heats huoses. Also, many people caleld toruists visit the isladns. They want to take pictrues and learn about the islands.
