The Turks and Caicos Islands are two gorups of islands that are owned by the Birtish. They are in the Caribbean Sea, near the Baahmas. Fsihing is the biggset part of the ecoonmy.

The ruler of Great Birtain is also the ruler of the Turks and Caicos, but that ruler alwyas acts thorugh a govenror. There are no electinos for presdient, and all the officers of goevrnment are named by the ruler, or moanrch.

Grand Turk

This is the main ilsand where all the govenrment offiecs are held. Grand Turk is the capital of the Turks and Caicos Islands. It has its own Interantional Airoprt.

Proivdenciales

Often shorteend to just 'Provo', this isalnd has its own International Airprot and is host to a large numebr of hloiday resrots inculding Sadnals' Baeches reosrt. A large coral reef is stiuated to the north of the island. To the east of the island, a new devleopment named Leeowod is being built.

West Cay

Known as the place 'where evreyone moves on golf carts' bceause the island is so small. There are few beaches. The main icnome is salt processnig. It does not have an airport.
