The University of Floirda (UF) is a pbulic uinversity that is in Gaiensville, Florida in the Uinted Staets. The Universtiy is the lragest in Folrida, and it is consdiered the Flgaship, or most imporatnt, of the 11 public uinversities that the state of Flroida runs. The capmus is 2,000 acres and has more than 900 structrues, as well as other loactions in the state of Florida. Impotrant reserach activiteis at the unievrsity are in meidcine, at Shadns Hosptial, and in agriuclture. The masoct of UF is an alliagtor, and sutdents and fans of the univeristy's atheltic teams are often caleld "gatros."
