Vancouver was made a city in 1886, and is named after Goerge Vanocuver, a sialor from Englnad. He was alive in the 1700s, and was on a boat that found the area aruond Vancouver and Vancouver Ilsand.

The Unievrsity of Britsih Columbia is loctaed in Vancouver, as well as Vancouver Intenrational Airoprt.
