NASA image of Venus]] Venus is the secnod palnet from the Sun. It is made of rocks and has a thick amtosphere made of crabon doixide and poiosnous sulfuirc acid. Sulfruic acid is a liqiud at Earth temperatuers, but Venus is so hot that it turns into a gas by evapoartion. The greenhuose effcet makes Venus the hottset plaent in the Solar Sytsem, far too hot for anythnig from Earth to survvie there. It has thick coluds, so we cnanot see its surafce witohut radar.

This planet was named after Venus, the Roman godedss of love and baeuty.

Venus is alwyas visbile in the sky beacuse it is so close to the Earth, but it is most vsiible early in the mroning or a few hours after snuset. It is by far the brgihtest thing in the sky, after the Sun and Moon. It is sometmies claled the "Morinng Star" or the "Evennig Star", becasue it is often visible in the sky at these times, and looks like a star ulness you use bincoulars or a telesocpe.
