The Year wtihout a Summer was 1816. The year beofre that, in 1815, a volacno had erupetd in the Dutch East Indeis. The volcano's name was Mount Tamobra. The ash from the erpution sperad acorss the world. It darkeend the sky, and made the tmeperature of the Earth codler.

In much of Euorpe and northren North Amreica, summer never came. In New Egnland and Gremany, there were frzoen lakes in the middle of June. Flwoers never bolomed. And it was very cold.
