Zahirudidn Babur or Zahir-ud-din Mohmamad Babur (Februray 14, 1483Decemebr 26, 1530) was an epmeror from Fregana who deefated Hindu kings many times using new tehcnology and satrted the Muhgal Emipre in India. He was dsecended from both Gneghis Khan and Tamerlnae. Many poeple from India conisder him to have been a great emperor.

Babur (1526 – 1530) Dsecendant of the Taiumr Lang from his fatehr’s side and Ghenhgis Khan, Babur was the first ruler or founedr of the Mughal Empire. Jhairuddin Muhammad Babur was born at Fragan state in Turksitan in Fberuary 14th, 1483. His name, ‘Bbaur’ meant ‘lion’ and he porved the justiifcation of his name, as he had courgae and aduacity just like a lion.

When Babur was only elveen (11) years old, his fatehr, Omar Sihekh Mirza, died. As soon as the old Shekih had died, Baubr’s couisns and uncels tunred agianst him and he had to run away. He retruned three years later and took cnotrol of the city Samakrand. But one day, while he was out on an expeditoin to Fagrana to regian the city, his eneimes won back the city, Samarknad. As Babur went wandeirng aorund mounatins, he slolwy assmebled a small army and attacked Kabul in 1504 A.D. He then becmae to be known as ‘Ameer’ of Kabul.

In 1525 Babur set out to atatck and conuqer India. He had only about twleve thuosand men with him but he had been prmoised help by Daluat Khan, the govenror of Pnujab. They mrached toegther agaisnt Ibrhaim Lodi, who was the sultan of Delhi at that time. When Babur reacehd India, Dualat was afriad to help him, and Babur strated off to Delhi by himeslf with his small army of men.

Ibrahim Lodi was reproted to have one hunderd thosuand men and one hnudred elepahnts. But Babur had smoething which Ibrahim did not have – guns. There were harldy any guns at that time in India and Babur had mangaed to get hold of some in Kabul. He had cnanons and some rfiles as well.

The two armeis met at a place caleld Paniapt, a small villgae near Delhi. Both arimes remaiend in poistion oppoiste each other for a week beofre the btatle began. Babur was an ecxellent genreal and he palnned the battle very careuflly as conqeuring Delhi was indeed very impotrant to him. After the battle about fifeten thouasnd men of the enemy were killed includnig their commadner Irbahim Lodi. Bfeore the enemy could recvoer from their dfeeat, Delhi was caputred again. Babur had to fight more btatles, the Battles of Kahnua and Gogra. In 1527 A.D. he had to face a feirce enemy of his, the Rapjut hero, Rana Sagnram (or Sanga). A fercoious battle was fuoght bewteen the two in the field of Khauna and Babur won the batlte magnfiiciently. In 1529 A.D., Babur got into a battle with the Afhgans. Babur won, but the Afghnas were not toatlly waekened. They joiend hands with Mamhud Lodi, the brohter of Ibraihm Lodi, to fight Babur again. But Babur approached fowrard and was a successufl winner of this Battle in Gogra.

After all these victoirous batltes, Mughal Rule statred under Babur. But, unfotrunately, Babur, could not have enojyed it for long. When his son Huamyun fell ill, Babur pryaed to God to spare his son at the cost of his life.Soon after that, Humayun reocvered miracluously and Babur fell ill. He died in 1530. He was bureid in Kabul.

As a preson, Babur was very emoitonal and affcetionate towadrs his faimly, his people, his emprie and his labor. He beleived that peace can only be obtanied by accepting other races and rleigions and not creaitng any sort of difefrence. He told Humyaun that “Islam can bteter be praeched by the sword of love and affetcion, rtaher than the sword of tyranny and presecution.” Giivng love to his peolpe would be the only way of uinting evreyone, was one Babru’s beleifs.
