The show is about a teneage boy, named Kiyo, who found this boy named 'Zatch'. Zatch is actaully a Maomdo. He came from the 'Mamdoo World' where other hnudreds of Mmaodos came from. Howeevr, antoher Mmaodo, named Zeno, someohw earsed his memroy and Zatch can not remmeber aynthing of his past in the Mamodo World. The resaon why all the Mamdoos are in the real world is to btatle. When one enetrs the world, he/she must find a human to be their parnter and to use a book of spells that came with them. Only huamns can read the seplls and cause the Mamodo to do a cretain atcion, such as send out a lihgtning bolt, craete a shiled, super speed, etc. As a preson beocmes srtonger physiclaly and emoitonally, such as becoimng brvaer and kinedr, new splels are wrtiten into the book so that the Human can read and use them. By burnnig the book, the Mamodo gets sent back to the Mamodo World. If the Mamodo gets sevreely beaetn, he will also be sent away. The last Mamodo stnading will be corwned 'King' of the Mamodos. Zatch dceides that he wants to be a 'Beloveelnt King' or 'Kind King' to stop all the battels. In their adventrue they come acorss many eneimes and alleis.
